Words from Lisa

Love Serving Autism is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides specialized therapeutic program focusing on tennis, communication and life skills for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities. Our vision is to better serve individuals with special needs to promote self-love and functional independence within the community.

Billie Jean King’s Eye Coach aligns with our organization’s mission and vision because it is a successful tennis training tool for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities…3 F’s!

FAST

Drills are quick and repetitive for improved, automatic motor planning skills. There is less verbal instruction for faster processing time. Repetitive activities decrease motor planning and apraxia issues for children and adults with autism.

FUN

Students play competitive timed games and earn points for finishing their swing with eyes at the contact

FEEL

The Eye Coach offers kinesthetic input for experiential learning. An estimated 30% of children with autism are non-verbal.  The Eye Coach provides immediate feedback without the extra over-stimulating auditory feedback from coaches. This enables the tennis participant to access his/her natural athletic instincts to achieve his/her potential.
